Ah, Google. I almost forgot about their bookmarking options...

...have you tried Delicious Duffman? Does Google really make it easier than Delicious?

Google has taken over the world!! Or at least mine. I don't need to share bookmarks with anyone really. So I find Google Bookmarks & Notebook to be more than adequate.

As I search & surf using iGoogle I can "Note" a site to check out later. And if I like it I can add it to my Bookmarks. I can then access my bookmarks from my Google browser toolbar or access ALL my major information from ANYWHERE using my iGoogle account.

The name change was a good idea, I think. Too many people were struggling with the spelling, so it just made sense...

Kia ora Sameer!

I'm glad you wrote this post.

I subscribed to del.icio.us just last month under pressure following the Web2.0 craze. Yes I use bookmarks - in Mozilla. No I can't see that delicio.us is any different.

I tried it a few times. It was easier to use the old folder system I'd constructed for my bookmarks. Consequently I continue to use Mozilla bookmarks and don't use delicious. During which time Delicious has made changes to its name.

I wonder what was wrong with del.icio.us?

Marina, you were the one that inspired me to give Delicious another shot back over a year ago...I tried using it in a similar manner as you, but it still didn't fit in the flow of how I used the internet.

I use del.icio.us extensively, but not for sharing. I have a variety of tags ... "calendar" for Seattle event sites that I check once a month, "tobuy" for things I may want to grab at some point in the future, and more recently, "tobuyforhouse" which my boyfriend then subscribed to the RSS feed of, when we were moving into a new house together.

Thanks guys. I probably won't be signing up really soon -- just too much on my plate right now -- but will be sure to hop on as soon as I get some time to make sure I can get set up properly.

I use it for personal organisation as well. And there are a lot of people who link stuff for me (who aren't on twitter or any other service). I use it like I use most web services, register, link, install a firefox app, add people who I think will find cool stuff and who I will want to send stuff to. You can even start with me:
http://del.icio.us/laljif

and here's a couple I think you might like:

Definitely looks like I jumped off the Delicious bandwagon too quickly. Maybe I need to give it a try again? Any tips for the user just jumping back in?
