Thanks for the tip Joyce. I do usually check out the WSFF, but I missed it this past year because I was out of the country. Definitely looking forward to the 2009 edition -- see you there, perhaps?

Just commenting on your love of shorts -- I don't know if you do this already but I recommend following the "Worldwide Short Film Festival" as well. It usually happens around late May.

I'm probably only going to see about 15-20 films this year myself, as I have prior work commitments that are going to take up a good chunk of my schedule.

I'm hoping to get some good screeners (already got a few) but again, I'm focusing on shorts this year, and I've already got 15 of those. =)

Love your preliminary picks, and looking forward to your reviews!

(Just as a heads up: I won't be covering the festival much here on this site. Most of my coverage is going to be on blogTO.)

Hey Sameer, I'm getting excited too. Though I only see ten actual screenings, that goes up because I get DVD screeners from some of the publicists and this year I may get some extra tickets from a friend who's a press agent. It's tough when I make a commitment to review everything I watch, but I always enjoy the experience.

I've posted my preliminary picks over at Toronto Screen Shots but with the lottery process changed this year to favour the rich, we'll see how many of these I get. Part of the fun is scrambling to find replacements for films you didn't get.

I'll look forward to seeing you and reading your coverage!
